Our Team

Our coaches are engaged with you from start to finish. There is much more to coaching CrossFit than showing you the workout, timing it, and writing your score on the board. Our coaches are constantly observing your form and technique making sure you are using correct mechanics and getting the most out of your workout. More importantly however, our coaches are insuring you are operating safely. YOUR safety is the #1 priority of our coaches.

Our coaches continually work on attaining new certifications, complete home study courses, watch instructional videos, and read current research articles in order to better serve our members. Our coaches pride themselves on being experts in their fields. If you have a question for one of our coaches and they do not know the answer, they will not make something up in order to sound educated. They will tell you they do not have the knowledge to correctly answer that question and refer you to someone else, or they will go home and find the answer for you. This type of service and expertise is what sets us apart from other CrossFit boxes and ensures the safety of our members.

Bio:

Monica Jacobsma was a 4-year All-American basketball player at Azusa Pacific University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Athletic Training and Psychology. Post graduation she began working at an outpatient Physical Therapy clinic in Santa Monica, California. Monica knows first hand the functional movements CrossFit trains and develops are pivotal in maintaining a strong healthy body. She works hard to fight the stigma CrossFit gets as being “too intense and causes injury”. Monica believes when CrossFit is done right, under the proper coaching instruction and load, it will help your body to remain injury FREE for many years.  Any one of our members will tell you Monica is a very hands on coach and has eyes like a hawk.  Choosing to use not only verbal, but also tactile cues to achieve correct movement, Monica does not let form fly out the window, EVER.  Monica understands that each person has a different way of learning, communicating and processing information.  She is very good at recognizing each athletes capabilities and adjusts her coaching techniques for each person.  Monica brings an intense positive energy to her classes and makes you want to do your best because you know she believes in you.

Bio:

Ryan is originally from Long Island, NY.  A UCF Orlando alumni, he then chose to move and work as a personal trainer and coach in Naples where he spent 10 years developing and expanding his education.   Ryan’s mission is to educate his clientele on health and fitness practices in order to improve health, wellness, and vitality.  With over 16 years of experience in the fitness and wellness industry, Ryan has had the opportunity to learn from an eclectic mix of methodologies.  Ryan is a former body builder, current CrossFitter and occasional triathlete.
